International Music Expo launches its 2021 edition and opens applications for the October event

International Music Expo (IMX) is an initiative that gathers together professionals, creators and audiences from the creative and tech industries. Based in China, the global leader investor in the latest tech and the home to one-third of the world’s unicorns, IMX facilitates a digital environment to connect, collaborate, learn and grow together as a global community.

With the proven success of its 2020 edition, this year IMX expands significantly on its existing formula to help foster creatives around the world. In addition to Industry Conference and Music Showcase, the 2021 edition introduces the Business Expo program.

IMX Industry Conferences hosts a series of panels and presentations from a wide range of organizations, discussing the latest trends, technologies and business practices. The event showcases the latest products, services and innovations, exploring the newest wins for the industry. As part of the program, a new music business event aimed at the Chinese music market – Music Ally China Digital Summit – will be broadcasted. The three-day virtual event will consider a range of current and forward-thinking topics for the Chinese music industry.

IMX Music Showcase invites artists from grassroots to majors, across all genres and from all parts of the world to showcase their talent in front of an unprecedented new audience, industry professionals, and global media. Artists are welcome to submit their 10 minutes pre-recorded videos to participate in Music Showcase.

IMX Business Expo runs for the first time and will see a number of GOs, NGOs, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations from around the world get involved, including Association of Independent Music (AIM), Anything World, Audoo, Beidi Technology, Blokur, CAVCA, CD Baby, Chartmetric, Chilemusica, ClickNClear, CrossBorderWorks, Fanaply, FOCUS Wales, FUGA, Haole Wuhang, Hit FM, IAFAR, International Music Business School, Independent Music Coalition Japan (IMCJ), Independent Music New Zealand (IMNZ), Italia Music Export, Jazz Shanghai, Linkfire, LiveNation, LyricFind, Keep, Mai Ai Culture, Mango Hearing, Midem, Monstercat, Music Business Association, Music Export Ukraine, MQA, Naked Music, Playara, Songtrust, SonoSuite, Sounds Australia, Victorian Music Development Office (VMDO), Zhejiang Yinzhi Technology.

IMX Business Expo allows participants to exhibit their brands, discover new partners and clients, enrich their offerings and expand their business. Artists, creators, industry professionals are welcome to share their businesses’ stories in the form of a 10 to 40 minutes pre-recorded video introduction.

The event will run October 11-31 and will be streamed online for free across all major platforms internationally and in China.
